OUR MISSION

The mission of En Su Casa Primary Health Care is to provide access to evidence based quality, affordable, and culturally sensitive Preventive Healthcare to the family as a whole; regardless of their socio-economic and/or immigration status.

OUR VISION

To expand our comprehensive health care services to all community members, from birth to advanced years, in order for all patients to live more productive and healthy lives.

Dr. Liliana Lopez, FNP, DNP

Dr. Liliana Lopez, DNP, FNP fulfilled a longtime dream when she established a primary health care practice in Rockland County to serve a diverse range of patients, many of who had inadequate health insurance or were uninsured. In July 2012, Dr. Lopez opened En Su Casa Primary Health Care in Spring Valley, NY, with one-exam room and office hours on just two nights a week. Less than five years later, Dr. Lopez had more than 3000 active patients. Her office now has expanded to several exam rooms and she sees patients 7 days a week, with appointments available during the day, evening, and weekends.

It was during her 10 years working as an emergency room nurse at Nyack Hospital, that Dr. Lopez first noticed the need for quality, affordable, primary health care for the growing Latino community. She became concerned that so many immigrants without insurance were using the emergency room as a substitute for a primary doctor. Dr. Lopez decided that someday she would help these patients get the comprehensive medical care they deserved. Today, at En Su Casa Primary Health Care, Dr. Lopez insists that all incoming patients, no mater their socioeconomic and / or immigrant status, are given excellent and comprehensive health care services, offered in a culturally sensitive manner, keeping in mind the whole person as a significant member of our community.

The energetic, optimistic Dr. Lopez followed an unconventional path to her educational degrees and health care practice, but always knew she had the potential to make something of herself. Dr. Lopez attended Rockland Community College to earn a nursing degree, whereupon she graduated at the top of her class, earning the Hispanic Student Achievement Leadership Award. Years later, while working as Director of Nursing at a local residential treatment center for adolescents, she decided to further her education at Dominican College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1999 and later her Master of Science in Nursing degree in 2004, becoming a family nurse practitioner.

Still looking to learn more, she went back to school again, to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Pace University in 2013. While she was advancing her studies, Dr. Lopez worked in a variety of challenging nursing jobs, gaining invaluable hands-on experience outside of the classroom. Since then, Dr. Lopez has become a contributing member to her alma maters, providing mentoring, internship, and scholarship opportunities to current graduate students. Dr. Lopez has also been inducted into the Dominican College Alumni Hall of Achievement for Leadership and was named as one of the Dominican College Alumni of Distinction. In 2016, Dominican College conferred Dr. Lopez the degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa and recently inducted her into Dominican College’s prestigious Board of Trustees.
